When can I move in?
If there is a storage space available that meets your specific storage needs, you can move in anytime.
How much notice do I need to give when I move out?
We require a 30 day written notice before you move out. Our staff will go over that process at the time of signing.
What type of documentation do I need to provide in order to rent a space?
All you need is a Government issued form of ID (example: driver’s license, state ID, or passport)
Do I need to sign a long-term lease?
No, we rent on a month to month basis unless the customer requests otherwise. However, we offer discounts for customers who sign a lease for a year or longer.
What about insurance?
It is Plumas Lake Self Storage’s policy to provide you with a minimum of $2000.00 tenant insurance coverage for all our storage units.
Does someone have to be in the office to let me through the security gates?
No. We offer a separate set of hours for accessing your storage units.
How do I make a payment?
You can either pay in person, through the mail or on our website. You may also sign up to have the payment automatically deducted from your credit card/savings/checking account monthly.
What forms of payments do you accept?
Checks, cash, money orders, VISA or MasterCard.
Do you sell boxes and storage supplies?
Yes, here at Plumas Lake Self Storage we have boxes and all your storage supplies.
How do I know how much storage space I will need?
You can either use our Space Estimator on our website, or call the facility manager for assistance.
Can I stop by to view the facility and storage spaces? Or do I need an appointment?
Stop by anytime between the hours of 9AM to 1PM Monday through Friday, and 8AM – 12PM Saturday. The office is closed on Sundays.
Do I need to bring my own lock?
We require that you use the lock provided by us.
Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?
Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials and perishables. Please contact us if you have any questions about a specific item.
Are there handcarts/dollies available at the facility?
Yes. You are welcome to use the complimentary carts to move in.
